aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths
ranging from 200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium is ductile, with a
percent elongation of 50-70%, and malleable allowing it to be
easily drawn and extruded. It is also easily machined and cast.
The good weldability and corrosion properties in seawater make 5086
extremely popular for vessel gangways, and boat/yacht hulls. It is
considered a sister alloy to Aluminum 5083 with comparable
